The **Intel Compiler Suite** was a software module which was available on previous University HPC facilities (**Rocket**). It was loaded via the ''module load intel'' command and provided the following functions:

   * Intel C/C++/Fortran compiler
   * Intel MPI libraries / MPI runtime
   * Optimised Intel math libraries

Due to the change to AMD processors on current University HPC facilities (**Comet**), the **Intel Compiler Suite** is no longer offered.

=== C/C++/Fortran ===

Users wishing to compile C/C++/Fortran code should migration to either:

   * [[:advanced:software:gcc|GCC]]

=== Optimised Math Libraries ===

If you need to take advantage of processor-optimised math libraries, use the following:

=== MPI Runtime ===

Users needing to use MPI jobs / MPI runtime can use MPI functionality built in to replacement versions of Slurm, or directly:

===== Requests =====

Requests for new installations of the Intel Compiler Suite - or the equivalent replacement (Intel OneAPI) will **not** be considered for Comet. All new users should start using the AMD Optimising Compiler (where needed), or GCC if this is not required.
