slurm low mem long int. jobs NA Working on IDE throughout the day for navigating files, git syncing, rdw+comet syncing, code writing before launching high mem job. Lots of 1 hour jobs not practical but 1 job for long time is stuck in queue despite very little memory request QOL, day-day working

Pycharm given as alternative but this is primarily for Python. Similary Rstudio for R. A lot of work is usually cross language though so swapping IDEs between languages isn't ideal and unsure if work arounds e.g. rpy2 to run R within python will work well in pycharm. Some popular packages e.g. pertpy/milopy is a python package which runs R models during pipeline workflow Working day-to-day
AI usage with loop engineering NA Documentation of what can/can't be done on hpc with AI and how to use best for token minimal usage would help. e.g. is ollama for local models okay to use so llm models can be used and stored on comet? Working day-to-day
Mounting drives like RDW when not on compus NA Documentation shows only for windows on newcastle server so for this and other tools/documentation, how to do it not on newcastle wifi would help a lot Setup
git on compute node NA Install git on compute nodes so don't need a seperate terminal ssh to login node just to push code written to github when working interactively through IDE QOL, day-day working
