Viewing RDW On Windows

It is fastest and safest to access and move files on RDW using linux commands directly on the HPC. However it can be helpful to view files and permissions on Windows. Use file manager or Powershell to browse your files under the path \\campus\rdw\[your share name]

You will only see files you (the user you are logged in as) have permission to see, so most folders will appear blank to you. Right-click a folder and choose Properties: Security to check permissions.

Look but Don't Touch

File Explorer is useful for checking that files are present and checking who has access, but avoid moving data around.
Are you "ON Campus" or DirectAccess ?

RDW can only be accessed on campus or using managed windows laptops with ‘DirectAccess’ connected.

  • Check for NCL DA Connected when you click the network icon in the systray (bottom right on the taskbar)
