Viewing RDW On Windows

Windows File Explorer is NOT suitable for copying data to or from Rocket. See File Transfer and RDW for the correct method.

Windows File Explorer or Powershell can be a handy way to check that data exists on RDW.

  • Browse your files under the path \\campus\rdw\<your share name>
  • NB you will only see files you (the user you are logged in as) have permission to see, so most folders will appear blank to you.

Off Campus

Campus managed windows laptops can ‘see’ RDW from off-campus, provided ‘DirectAccess’ is connected. As mentioned in File Transfer and RDW, attempting to move data using your laptop file manager while off campus would cause the data to travel via the internet and be unacceptably slow and error prone. Only use this method for viewing files.

Check for NCL DA Connected when you click the network icon in the systray (bottom right on the taskbar)
