Project Description

Buy utilising propietary patent data from all offices around the world (PATSTAT), different algorithms will compute measure that characterize the patent granted in US, EPO, WIPO, UK and Germany patent offices. The measures will include significance in the technological developments (influence, impact, and rippling of patents), the novelty regarding past inventions ased on text, technological classes and Network analysis. The dataset includes more than 20million patents and more than 100 million citations.

Software or Compute Methods

Software utilized is R (basic libraries like dataset, igraph, parallel, etc) to do the network calculations. Python will be utilized to perform text analysis and calculate lexicographic distances between abstracts and claims.
