Project Description

PhD project on mathematically modelling wildfire spread dynamics and the use of statistical inference to infer parameters for future predictions of similar events.

Software or Compute Methods

All code runs on Julia, old scripts were written in Python. Mathematical model for fire spread runs GPU based code while statistical inference uses Bayesian techniques which require longer run times. We will mainly produce data frames of training data and statistical inference chains, diagnostics plots for statistical inference and and arrays for visualisation of fire spread.
