A major component of my PhD research involves conducting a thematic analysis on a large number of past exam papers (>1000) from the School of Computing's Undergraduate Programmes. As all of the exam papers are handwritten and are not consistently formatted, the use of Large Language Models to convert them into usable tokenised data for subsequent thematic statistical analysis is required. This project intends to identify patterns in students' consideration of the curriculum's subjects over time.
Processing will be dependent on Python scripts written by the lead researcher, which utilise the PyTorch, Transformers, and TensorFlow libraries, as well as R for statistical analysis in real-time.
