Project Description

The HPC is used for a number of projects, including the LifeArc Centre for Rare Mitochondrial Diseases Award (NU-017673), Understanding astrocytic support of neuronal mitochondrial populations (NU-011948) and Identifying mitochondrial therapeutic targets to ameliorate neurodegeneration in Lewy body dementia (NU-016935).

Software or Compute Methods

Mainly used for genomics analysis (WGS/WES, RNAseq) etc. This will include aligment software (BWA, HiSAT, STAR, etc), data hadling (Picard etc) and Variant calling (GATK4 BCFtools, SAMtools etc). But also local piplelines for various bespoke analysis (circRNA etc). We also use a numer of population analysis tools (PLINK, MEGA etc) that due to large sampel sizes require HPC usage.
