Hereditary Leiomyomatosis and Renal Cell Cancer (HLRCC) is a condition caused by inherited mutations in the gene for fumarate hydratase (FH). Patients are at high risk of developing aggressive leiomyosarcomas and kidney cancers. This project aims to build a detailed map of the metabolic and genetic changes in FH-deficient skin tumours, and use that map to find new drug targets. This is a translational project, bridging patient samples, computational biology, and state-of-the-art lab models.
Git, virtual environments and containers (primarily for python and R work), bash scripting, cpu and gpu compute, single cell/nuclei and spatial technologies outputs, recognised public package workflows (e.g. scanpy, bin2cell, squidpy, miloR/milopy, scvi-tools) and custom packages and scripts.
